We have been advised by Tashi Lhunpo Monastery that Togden Rinpoche has kindly accepted to bestow initiations on YAMANTAKA, GUHYASAMAJA and CHAKRASAMVARA followed by 10 days of teachings on these three most sacred Highest Yoga Tantras.

These three Tantras are the three Highest Yoga tantras which are taught and practiced by monks of the Gelugpa tradition, in particular these are the traditions of the two Tantric Universities, Gyuto and Gyudme Monasteries. 

The Teacher, Tokden Rinpoche is the holder of the pure lineage of Sutra and Tantra, and a former Abbot of Gyuto monastery. 

It is recommended that you attend the whole teaching as these teachings are so rare to find outside of monastery settings. But for those who cannot stay for the whole duration (27 days) due to work or family commitments, it is still possible to come and attend the initiations only. 

By receiving the initiations, means that you can receive the teachings and do the practices in the future. Generally speaking, you cannot receive teachings of Highest Yoga Tantra or do the practices without receiving the initiation first, and receiving initiations requires a fully qualified Tantric Master.

It is very rare to reach the Dharma, it is even rarer to receive Tantric teachings in this life.

Togden Rinpoche, originally from Drepung Loseling Monastery, is a Holder of one of the Pure Lineages of this particular Tantra. Rinpoche is the embodiment of loving kindness and compassion and is known for having dedicated himself to teaching so many monks and nuns and lay people in India.  

Pilgrimage Date: 18th September - 14th October 2022

Cost: $4100 which includes food, accommodation, airport transfers and transport to teachings daily.

Cost does not include international flights to India, or India Visa.

 You will be responsible for doing your own India visa but we will apply for the PAP collectively as a group as this process can be quite involved and tedious.

As travel to this region requires a Protected Area Permit (PAP), which may take up to 3 months to prepare, we must receive all final bookings by 18th June.

Meals include 3 meals a day. Tashi Lhunpo will provide lunch daily during teachings. We will need to supply our own cutlery, cup, plate, bowl, flask, thermos as the monastery will not provide these.

As for the other meals, we will need to pay a local cook to prepare our meals for us especially.
