Due to requests from Sangha and students of Lama Tendar, we are delighted to announce that there will be a second Yamantaka Retreat at the Medicine Buddha Centre in January 2024.  

This retreat is of the highest yoga Tantra and requires the participant to have received the initiation of the Solitary Hero Yamantaka with full commitment of the daily practices.    For those who have not received the initiation but are serious about attending the retreat and abide by the commitments, there is the possibility of receiving the initiation from Lama Tendar.  If there is enough interest and requests from students who are willing to commit to the practice, then Lama Tendar will bestow this most precious initiation before the retreat commences.  

This retreat is open to first time participants as well as those who have attended it before.  For those participants who completed it earlier this year it is recommended to do the retreat a second time as this will complete the Yamantaka retreats and will protect you from untimely obstacles in this life. It will offer you protection from missing a daily session due to illness and so forth.  

As this is a residential retreat, numbers are limited due to the limited accommodation available at the Centre, so early booking and payment is essential to confirm your place.

Cost includes: 

• Retreat (18 days of 12 hour practice)  
• Accommodation (based on 18 nights rent  @$80/night plus food (3 meals per day). For those requiring additional nights at the Centre, the cost will be an additional $80/night. Please confirm the number of nights at time of booking.  
• All ingredients and materials required for the fire puja. As part of the requirements of the retreat, a fire puja is necessary to conclude the retreat.  This involves the inclusion of “twelve essential ingredients” which must be acquired and prepared by Lama Tendar and an assistant monk two days ahead of the retreat.  
• Sponsoring monks to chant during the completion fire puja on the last day.
